A little about the play:
​
The Dover Road is written by A.A. Milne who is, of course, best known for his stories and poems for children (e.g., Winnie-the-Pooh), also wrote humorous sketches, novels, and plays.
​
The rich and eccentric Mr Latimer's idea of philanthropy is to waylay eloping couples en route from London to Paris by way of the Dover Road. With the aid of his staff, he keeps them confined together at his house for a week to discover for themselves whether they are truly compatible when exposed to each other's constant company, habits and idiosyncrasies.
